How did you create Lessia as a drider. I have been interested in making one myself, but dont know how to do the stats and such.

My backstory isn’t really edgy. I love it so much. I am a true neutral Aarakocra. My DM did a lot of homebrew their lore/world. The government is corrupt but my mother is a diehard patriot. She is a representative for her variant and lives in the capital. My girl believes the government could be better but has no major issues with it. Pretty much swollowed most of the propaganda. She has magical capabilities so she was put in training to one day join the magic Council. She is a good kid overall but that small streak of divergence from expectation causes her mother to have to be a little more strict with her and eventually secretly ask someone higher up to send her on a reconnaissance mission rather than begin to learn doing magic. The campaign is starting this Saturday, I’ve worked out the backstory with the DM. My character has a fake name wears dark monotone clothes that covers every single inch of skin as well as a mask. No one but myself and the DM knows that I’m A Bird. Aarakocran Aristocracy. Aarakocracy. So I am pretending to have an edgy backstory meanwhile I actually have a loving family at home, I’ve been gone about a year.

I also have suffered from chronic stomach pain it is one of those things that sounds like it wouldn’t be that bad but then when you have it you get really exhausted and it is hard to move and no one understands why you aren’t doing/eating anything.
So I have immense empathy for you and I hope the doctors figure out what is causing you these problems soon so you can get better.

Giving your DM somewhat control over your backstory can be good or bad, depends if they're trying or not. Luckily for me I got super lucky.
My chracter: Orochi Yamata. Shadow Monk/Kensei Monk(I'll explain)
Background I came up with: Orochi only remembers 3 things. 1. A man named Susanoo did something to him and he wants to know what. 2. He's sure Susanoo kidnapped a woman named Kushinada and he wants to see her again. 3. The sword he is carrying isn't his so it has to belong to Susanoo but if so why did he leave it?
Worst DM version I've had: Susanoo did everything because it was funny, Kushinada died offscreen and the sword (Or as the DM put it, Weeb stick) was nothing. No joke it actually did nothing, which would of been fine if it did regular damage but nope if I used it it did no damage.
Best DM version and in my opinion the canon version: Susanoo is actually Tsukiyomi and Orochi is the real Susanoo, Kushinada was his fiancée, the sword is (obviously if you know Shinto mythos) named Kusanagi Tsurugi and is supposed to be a weapon that becomes stronger the more he remembers his true self (Aka defeat Orochi by becoming Susanoo once more).
Oh and when he finally became Susanoo again I was given the ability to swap to Kensei Monk abilities for a certain amount of time.

My backstory is, I’m a healer fighter (haven’t created character yet) who’s mother became sick so he traveled to the nearest town to try to learn how to heal, after his mother died, the arch mage, who taught him, adopted him, and when a war came, they were gonna draft him, but Rome (my character) toke his place, went back to his old ran down home, and grabbed his fathers old sword and helmet, (he died in a war) and during the war his adoptive father died while his home city was ransacked, he of course was devastated, and traveled of to a new country to try to run away from the past (idk what his name should be or class)

Nice that your DM lets you make "unique" characters like playing a Drider Druid. Most old school DMs won't let you use a "monster" character. mostly because the monster part kind of has to count as some extra levels (Like Level 1 Druid, with 5 levels burned by being a Drider since they're CR 6, essentially starting at level 6.)

Once as a GM, I had a party hanging out in a town doing nothing. I was stuck, until one of them decided to try communing with their deity for a sign. When he came out of his trance, the inner walls of the room he was gone, reveling the frame, and same with the floor except for the circle he was sitting in. He decided it was time to leave, that night, and the party managed to get themselves into trouble on the way out.

If you need help playing any given class, try asking somone who is a fan of that class.
For example, my favorite class is wizard. I play my wizard, HatSpell as an inulectual, who is verry conserned about preserving knowledge and books, for future generations.
Wizards are the nerds of the archane-casters, and sourcorers are the jocks by comparison. (Of course they are still neardy compaired to the marsial clssses.)

Out of curiosity, what exactly was on Sips' Wild Magic chart from your Fools' Gold campaign? It sounds like it has a ton of wacky stuff and I'm wondering what all could happen whenever you had to roll for wild magic as that character.
